A 5-Star Review from David B. in San Jose

on Thursday, 20 August 2015. Posted in People

"I will admit i was a little nervous after reading some of the bad reviews but this place truly earns 5 full stars! Mariah, the receptionist is awesome! She will call you to give you updates on your vehicle and address you as soon as you walk in. She set up my rental car, had Hertz come pick me up and when I was done with it I simply left her the keys. Bill came out to look at my Camaro and give me my quote. He is very professional and knows his stuff. My fiance got her purse chain caught in the passenger seat and I couldn't get it out. Bill went out of his way to get it out without damaging it. As for the actual repair they did and outstanding job. The paint matches perfectly! You would never guess that I someone merged into my car.
This is where they went above and beyond: After I picked up my Camaro I noticed the the front left tire pressure was high so I checked it with my digital gage and it read normal. I called Mariah and she told me to come in ASAP and she will have a tech see me the minute I get in. Come to find out that the front tire (which was never touched by Anderson) and rear tires were swapped at the dealership when they painted the rims. Bill stepped in and said they will swap them back right then and there, even though they had nothing to do with it. Additionally, I had some questions about installing an exhaust and Bill took the time to get me some price quotes on different brands with different amount of labor required.
The only little issue I had was when I got my car back there were some finger prints, glue, and residual powder from the work performed. Perhaps I am overly picky, but a final wipe down would have be truly exceptional.
Overall I still give them 5 full stars! I hope I never have to go a body shop again but if I do I will only go to Anderson and I will recommend this place to everyone." -David B., San Jose

Back-to-School Safety Tips

Common Sense Leads the Way

back to school safety tips TrueCar Pricing 140270468 300x200
It’s back-to-school time! If you’re sending your little ones off for school for the very first time, you know that this is a stressful moment in life. At Anderson Behel, we have kids too- so we’re aware of this trying time and that’s why we’re happy to offer you these simple back-to-school safety tips:

·        Walk the school route along with your children before the first day of school to make sure it is safe and your child knows the route.

·        When you can’t walk with your children, encourage them to walk with a friend.

·        Encourage your kids to avoid short cuts unless they have been pre-approved.

·        Tell your children to stay observant and aware of their surroundings as they walk. If they think they are being followed, they should immediately go to a trusted adult and tell them.

·        Make sure your child knows what to do if they think they are in danger – they should yell “help” or “you are not my mom/dad” and run to the nearest business or back to school.

·        Tell your child, if a stranger asks them questions, they should not get close to the car. Make sure they know to never get in a car with a stranger – anyone the kids and parents don’t know or know very well.

·        Establish a code word with your child to identify a person as a trusted adult.

·        Make sure your child knows they should never go near any adult they don’t personally know who asks for assistance. Some “bad” adults might ask for help or even claim they are looking for a lost puppy.

·        Make sure your children know who is a trusted adult: law enforcement, store owners, or a teacher, to name a few.

·        Tell your child that if they are ever in a situation that makes them uncomfortable, they have the right to say no, loud and clear.

With today’s sophisticated cars, it’s more important than ever that your body shop be certified to repair your type of vehicle. At Anderson Behel, Silicon Valley’s leading collision repair company, we’re proud to hold several certifications, which means we’re a Honda Certified Body Shop, Acura Authorized Body Shop, Nissan Authorized Body Shop, Subaru Auto Body Shop and most recently a Porsche Collision Center. What does this mean? At Anderson Behel, we’ve invested in the finest training, equipment and tools to do an O.E. repair on each and every Honda, Porsche Acura, Nissan and Subaru that comes into our shop. Why not work with a body shop that is qualified, experienced and certified by the carmaker itself to work on your car? It just makes good sense and that’s why we proudly tell the world that we’re certified on these 5 leading brands.

Our Estimator Billy is the Drummer of The Trims!

The Trims ABN 1They say that drummers dance to a different beat, but when you meet Billy Brady, our estimator here at Anderson Behel, he seems like a very positive, upbeat guy who is usually smiling and looking for that next car through the door.

During the day, Billy deals with customers at the shop, but at night he turns into a rock 'n roll drummer for a mega hot San Jose, CA band called The Trims. Established in 2010, this band already has a storied history in the whirlwind five years since their inception. They’ve been featured on MTV’s “The Real World,” played at the Converse flagship store in downtown SF, and recently played at the Red Gorilla Fest in Austin, TX and Bottle Rock Napa in May. The band has recorded five CDs and won several band contests and also was selected to play at a concert during the America’s Cup held in San Francisco in 2014.

Led by Vocalist/Guitar player Gabriel Maciel, with Bryan Aguirre as the band's Lead Guitarist, Bassist David Ovlitz and of course, Billy "The Kid" Brady as the drummer, many music experts believe that the future looks bright for this band.

Don't underestimate this estimator/drummer as he and The Trims focus intently on the big prize--signing with a record label and pursuing every musicians' dream. The buzz is deafening for the post-punk, disco-laden act, and the buzz goes on with the release of their third E.P. “Vida.” The collection proves to be a distinctively personal trail in growth, loss, angst and movement; emotionally and musically.

The Trims are getting rave reviews from music critics throughout the Bay Area, including this one written by Steve Palpoli from Metro Magazine several years ago. “The first thing that jumps out of the Trims' debut album, We Cried for Fun, is the guitars. Their music embraces the spooky swirl of Siouxsie and the Banshees, the assault of Echo and the Bunnymen, the minor-chord crawling of the Cure and the propulsive progressions of New Order. Not to mention layers of effects that would impress even the Edge himself.”

So, the next time you bring your vehicle into Anderson Behel, ask Billy about the band. "When he hits big, we'll probably lose him, but that comes with the territory when you hire musicians," Shop Owner David Mello says with a wry smile. "He does a great job here and we love him and hopefully he'll let me back stage when he's playing at Oracle or Shoreline in a few years!"

Another 5-Star Review!

He hit a bear cub, raccoon or who knows what....

Happy Driver maleFor the first time in my life, I posted a review on Yelp. Bill and his fellow mechanic Duc are as great as anybody and the primary reason for me to sign up Yelp. They truly know what customers need. The story began with my weekend trip to Stanislaus National Forest. I saw a bear-cub size animal (maybe a raccoon or bobcat) ran across the road at night. Next second, my Chevy hit another one. I did not pay much attention then. After getting back to San Jose, I noticed that the bumper on the driver's side was broken/deformed; the fog light was seriously displaced; and the coolant was leaking. I happened to drive by the shop. The initial estimate was $1500 and backlog of 3 weeks to replace the bumper and radiator. However, knowing that I only have liability insurance coverage, they soon offered a minimal repair option $109. Duc found out the coolant leakage was on the hose, not the radiator itself. He magically turned the bumper back to its original form. They kindly offered free shuttle service to/from my office. I believe everyone knows how fast you can spend $109 for whatever occasion. But they solved my problem, priceless. Hopefully, you don't need Anderson Behel, but if you do, I am sure they will be on your side.

This 5-Star Yelp Review Tells Our Story

Family Car"A trustworthy shop for sure. I scratched up the front of my car pulling into my garage and was really worried I'd have to have the whole bumper redone. Steven checked it out, brought out some solution and buffed it up. All that's left are some minor visible scratches, which I can live with. He told me it might cost about $1,000 to fix if I really couldn't deal with the cosmetic damage.  I really appreciate that he gave me this option, rather than just tell me I needed to get it fixed. I also had a small panel popped out, and he had the tech come over and fix it. I was there for a grand total of 15 minutes. In and out, and he didn't even charge me for any of the work. Anderson Behel has restored my faith in body shops."
